Jay Vegas:

All right, welcome back everybody to Vegas Guys Locker Room. I'm your host, jesse. We're back again with another episode. If you don't know, follow us along on X at Vegas Guys Locker Room and we have a special guest on the show. I know everybody was expecting Rick. We talked last week with Rick. Rick has some scheduling problems. We will get with Rick again next week, but we have the big time, sean, in the house. What's going on, big guy?

Shaun:

Hey buddy, what's been going on?

Jay Vegas:

It's been a minute since you've been on the show, so in a few seconds is true. Yeah, so you know having Nick on here a few weeks in a row and then having Rick on here, so it's good to get some guys going on the show and talking some sports. So today's show we're going to focus on because it is a special weekend in football. It is combine weekend, exciting stuff going around football, everybody looking to see what teams are going to do, what especially their teams are going to do, and I got to say this is an interesting draft class. What do you think?

Shaun:

I like the, I like the three quarterbacks, and then I especially think that the wide receivers are very, very deep. Even the, even the really slow guys are very good route runners, like lad Mckonsky Mckonkey. Yeah, mckonsky yeah that dude is a great route runner, yeah, great. And then there's another kid from Oregon, not just Troy Franklin Yep, troy Franklin, yep.

Jay Vegas:

The only thing that worries me about Troy and I love Troy Frank. I'm a big, I'd love to see him. I think he's a kind of guy that's going to go late first round, early second. The only thing that worries me about Troy Franklin is and he's got size, he's six, three. I mean I weigh more than that guy. He's like a hundred, he's like 185 pounds.

Shaun:

So can wet man, I mean he's a he's a straw, he's gonna get hit by a free safety across the middle. He might, he might die.

Jay Vegas:

I don't know it scares me. It scares me about it, but he's got me. He's got great size and speed though, man.

Shaun:

Yes, yes, well, I think the is it the biggest wide receiver in the in the draft coming up? Romo doosney, he's like six, three, two, 15, something that six see six, three, two, 15.

Jay Vegas:

If you look at some of the other receivers, let me see who's the biggest guy. The biggest one, I believe two, 15. No, it's actually a Keon Coleman out of Florida State. Looks like he is 64215. He's about he's an inch tall. He's taller.

Shaun:

What do they put down his 40 yet? Or did he not run yet?

Jay Vegas:

No, all these skill players are going tomorrow. They're on Saturday. Quarterbacks running back to receivers are all tomorrow. So this is pre combine numbers, so we won't know anything. This is a. This is an exciting time to watch these guys and see who's a. Who's the next slow?

Shaun:

promise. Oh wait, hold on no the biggest receiver, holy smokes.

Jay Vegas:

It looks like he's the number 16 rank. In this kind of a deep receiver league is Johnny Wilson from Florida State the man is 6767237.

Shaun:

He's a converted tight end.

Jay Vegas:

He has to be the dude is massive, bro, I mean, he's a big dude. Yeah, young guy junior, richard junior, so he played, he did. It was started off at Arizona States, ended up at looks like Florida after the whole Herm Edwards the ordeal.

Shaun:

But yeah, not too bad, I mean 672, 30, he can put 30 more pounds on him. That's a little, you know, a little weight plus a little muscle, he'd be a great, great tight end.

Jay Vegas:

Oh my God, this kid this, this. Yeah, you never know, he might convert.

Shaun:

He's just keeps his feet a little bit, you know you get me it looks like a looking at Antonio Gates. Re revitalize there from showing my age, but you know it looks like he gets some usage.

Jay Vegas:

It looks like 2022 was a big year for me, at 43 receptions for 897 yards, five touchdowns, which is not a bad year.

Shaun:

It looks like.

Jay Vegas:

I think he had a down here because he got hurt. Looks like he only played nine games this past season, so that's definitely not a good stock. Yeah, so yeah but that's a big boy.

Shaun:

Yeah, it's. He's climbing a ladder. You're trying to get a kitchen man 10 yards in.

Jay Vegas:

Good Lord, I wrote. I scroll down my page I was like, wait, did I include tight ends? I went no man that's a receiver Holy smokes. That's a beast. But yeah, no, I mean this this, this wide receiver court, like you were saying. It looks like it could be interesting. Who else are you looking at?

Shaun:

I like Malik neighbors at LSU, I think he's, I think he's going to be a stud, like complete stud. You can come out and just be rolling, like Addison did for my for Vikings this year. Marvin Harrison Everybody's got him penciled in as as being a yeah, instant starter wherever he goes Most likely Arizona.

Jay Vegas:

Oh, I'd love to see him in Arizona playing with Colin Murray, just to light that up. That'd be kind of cool watch that would.

Shaun:

That would be kind of cool watch. Like I said, we talked to touch on the O'Donnell Nate he says nice name. Well, earlier, I would love to see the. I'd love to see him drop to like 13 for the Raiders, just for the fun of it. Let's see what 1314.

Jay Vegas:

Where does Daniel oh man, I mean Jeremiah, daniel, jeremiah have him going? He has done say, I think he got him going, he's got him actually going.

Shaun:

Ninth in his latest mantra.

Jay Vegas:

He's got him going ninth to the Bears.

Shaun:

Really so the Bears are going to get, are going to trade or trade Justin Fields getting Williams and a number one receiver.

Jay Vegas:

Yeah, that's what it looks like. It looks like it there. He's got them keeping the number one pick, going with Katelyn Williams and he coming back at nine and getting Roman Dunzi.

Shaun:

If you were to keep Justin Fields and you kept one in nine, where would you go?

Jay Vegas:

Jesus, I hate to say because if you decided to build around, if you decided to build around Justin Fields, Justin Fields. If you kept Justin Fields you definitely have to get yourself an offensive lineman, because that offensive line is pretty, pretty awful.

Shaun:

So of course you probably go with Joe, yeah, but you could get him a nine.

Jay Vegas:

Yeah, you can. No, actually they got. They've got him going high. They got him as a top five guy now. Really, yeah, they got Joe Alt go in top five. They got him going to five now.

Shaun:

Isn't there three other offensive linemen that are that are like right, right around him? Oh?

Jay Vegas:

yeah, they got the. I can't say that guy's first name, but his fashion for Chuno he's. He's the second offensive tackle, and then you got Fouwaga. Oh.

Shaun:

OK, well, yeah, Fouwaga, what if you went with two? What if you just took one and nine and just took offensive lineman?

Jay Vegas:

You could definitely do that. I mean you definitely, I mean, you could even actually you could actually trade down to say number five, yeah, or number four, wherever you want to go with this.

Shaun:

And pick up an extra first round.

Jay Vegas:

Yeah, and pick up an extra first round and go get yourself two different, two offense, a solid offense, alignment man you could trade number one to New York for the number six. Yes and still end up with two offense alignment and Rome at number nine.

Shaun:

Yes, yes, you could, which why are they not talking about that, I mean? I mean, we all know Justin Fields is not the greatest of quarterbacks, but For what they want to do and what they want to accomplish, he fits right in there. I've been thinking about like trade down, keep Justin Fields for three, two or three more years, because you still got to develop Whoever you bring in anyway. Pick up the offense of linemen, keep the run game going and you can still pick up a receiver. Yeah, it's just. It doesn't make any sense to me to trade the number one or, you know, trade it, trade out Justin Fields just doesn't any it's.

Jay Vegas:

It's hard to say because you know you get these guys are a bust. Sometimes at those those Hydra picks a quarterback. But you don't hear any bad things about how Justin Fields doesn't put the work in. Everyone, you talk to who says he works his butt off.

Shaun:

So yeah, his team, yeah, his teammates love him. Yeah, from every report You've heard the teammates love him.

Jay Vegas:

I mean, I give them some tools.

Shaun:

Yeah, I mean Just give him some protection. You're just that offense.

Jay Vegas:

The line is horrendous, I mean even trying to get the run game going is difficult because those guys are just they're not good all the way around, but I do like them. I would like them to trade down and, like I just looked at that, I didn't realize that New York was at six. Yeah, and you could you could drop down the six and go that route you can.

Shaun:

You could drop down the six, get the, get you know. Drop down the six and get the Giants to give you, like Isaiah Simmons or the the, the, the cornerback that they just picked up like two years ago.

Jay Vegas:

Oh yeah, I forget his name. Yeah, I know you talk with, with their Sproom or something. Yeah, yeah, I think it's the same.

Shaun:

They could, they'd be like yes, please take this, because we need a quarterback, so bad.

Jay Vegas:

You definitely get some assets out of that pick and get a, probably get next year's number one and some other draft picks as well.

Shaun:

Oh, or they could, or or they could like. Okay, yeah, tag franchise. Tag Barkley will take him in your number one. Move them over here.

Jay Vegas:

Oh, man, that that could be something else.

Shaun:

That could be that could be some, so you could definitely do a lot with that pick, especially the.

Jay Vegas:

The Bears are sitting pretty.

Shaun:

I don't know. They're they're loving life right now and it's they're. Just I don't know if they're smart enough to do anything with it. Are they gonna follow the pressure and be like, okay, yeah, we're gonna trade him for this. And then we're gonna take Caleb Williams and nobody thinks Kayla anybody that I talked to and the things that I read, they think Caleb Williams is good, but he's bust prone, yeah.

Jay Vegas:

I mean him coming out when he was the last year, when he thought you thought he was in. You know he definitely had a down year.

Shaun:

I mean USC did not perform. They did not perform to where you thought they were gonna perform, and no, it's like he started listening to all the hype about himself and it's like Now I'm just gonna coast to this year easy.

Jay Vegas:

I hate to say it wasn't like he was in the hardest conference. I mean he was in a tough conference. I mean they were back to him was actually pretty good this year. Right but I mean, it wasn't that good. I don't think it was that good for you to take that big of a step backwards, Correct?

Shaun:

correct? I honestly I think if I was, if you know, playing Fantasy G in here, I would. I would trade my pick down. I think you just go down.

Jay Vegas:

I think you usually, because you're gonna get more for that number one pick and not know what you're getting, because you don't know what you're gonna get with Kayla Williams, you already know what you're getting from Justin Fields and you know he's gonna put the work in. I'll take that over anything right now, especially because he's got that athletic ability. He's showing spots where he looks great.

Shaun:

You still got. You still got what DJ more on the outside. You still got Darnell moon oh, I think you got a re-signed Darnell mooney and Cole commit. I mean just pick up another receiver or pick up offensive linemen, yeah, and and some defense. I mean their defense was there, was their defensive backs were doing pretty well last year. They think they need a defensive one tackle and maybe another outside linebacker, but they were, they were starting to Gel towards like the last third of the season. Yeah, they were actually putting up points and they were putting up some some look like some fight, so yeah, I mean, I think the best move would be, would be just trade down.

Jay Vegas:

Yeah, I agree with you. I think you can get more assets for it and actually get some and improve your offensive line while keeping what I feel is still a. He's still a young quarterback with a lot of potential and you already know he works hard. You, kayla Williams, you don't know what he's gonna. You're gonna get out of him.

Shaun:

I just I think you can get so much more for him. And you know. And then you got to deal with Kayla Williams, his dad, who's like yeah, that's.

Jay Vegas:

that's the thing I'm just not into when the parents are getting bald, it's come on, man, I'm not a big fan of that one.

Shaun:

It's like the second coming of the basketball ball. Yes, it's like the ball ball, whatever was.

Jay Vegas:

Whatever his name was, yeah, that just it's. Oh god, I just don't know and you but the biggest thing, too, is Kayla Williams already said he doesn't want to play in Chicago.

Shaun:

How do you just say that?

Jay Vegas:

you mean he's pulling the L way? He's pulling the L way and the Eli Manning move.

Shaun:

Eli Manning. Well, I liked. Eli Manning goes. I don't want to play for San Diego. I mean not that at least you picked a place that was awesome all year round. Yeah, you didn't want to play.

Jay Vegas:

Yeah, you sure you were like well, it's not about the weather apparently it's not about the weather and it's not about the scenery. So Now I'm gonna go to New York. Were they ridicule you for everything.

Shaun:

I am alright, that's cool and he may be their best quarterback ever, ever, alright man.

Jay Vegas:

So but yeah, I do, I like those guys. I think there's gonna be some headlighters. What do you think about the running back class coming out?

Shaun:

Yeah.

Jay Vegas:

I like the kid from.

Shaun:

Missouri. I like the kid from Missouri. He's, he's smaller, he's shorter in stature, he's, he's, he's, he's fairly thick, but Schroeder, schroeder or something like that his name. Okay, I like him and I don't think the Michigan running back is gonna hold up very well. Blake, blake or.

Jay Vegas:

Blake or yeah.

Shaun:

I. I don't think he's gonna hold up very well, that's gonna be when it comes. I think he's gonna. I think he's gonna drop or he's gonna be drafted middle, middle, picked Maybe, maybe second round. But I think it should be a sir, I think he should be a third round draft. I don't think he's, I think he I think he does fall to the third round.

Jay Vegas:

I think he has a day three guy. I think the only possible day two guys you might see go in this Going this draft is probably Trey Benson, definitely from Florida State I think he's probably the best running back I Think I've seen and then probably Jonathan Brooks out of Texas.

Shaun:

Texas running backs always do well. Texas running backs Period you know for the most part historically they've, they've always done well.

Jay Vegas:

Hello, there's another guy I mean, I like Braylon, braylon, allen L Wisconsin. So you know, he knows how to follow blocks is that's where you go for your offensive linemen.

Shaun:

You just go this is sure yeah.

Jay Vegas:

Go find, go find the Badgers and then draft those guys on the defensive line and the offensive line will never fail you.

Shaun:

Not so much receivers, and you don't go for the skill players or you go there for the beef baby, you go there for the beef.

Jay Vegas:

That's where you go, and you know what, if you've got a stud running back, cuz you know, you know Taylor, jonathan, taylor, of course, went to Wisconsin. They had a great offense. Like you, learn how to let your blocks open the holes for you. And so I think those are smarter running back, so those running backs in it it can make a difference. I think those are the only three, I think, really seeing going in that day to range.

Shaun:

Well, there's an H back Titan slash halfback running back from, also from Texas, named Jattavian Sanders, who's gonna be more of a tight end role, but he can run the ball. I think he's gonna go Early third, early third, yeah he's a yeah, they've got.

Jay Vegas:

He's going in the draft. He's listed himself as a tight end.

Shaun:

Yeah, that's where I.

Jay Vegas:

I mean he's. He's a big boy. 64243. That's a beast, yeah. That's a big man, yeah.

Shaun:

Like, so he can play, could play H back or you know the full back hybrid role. Mm-hmm, roll through there he can. He can pay some road. I think he would do pretty well. Of course, my favorite tight end coming out right now is Brock Bowers. Yeah, that dude looks like a stud.

Jay Vegas:

He's gonna roll through. Big news is here. I'm gonna. I'm just gonna show our age a little bit here. Frank Gord Jr Is coming out now.

Shaun:

Oh, is his dad gonna try out again?

Jay Vegas:

Hey, say what you want, he's still the all-time leading wrestler in 49 is history. Buddy, that man you thought was gonna go back cuz he had those two knees, and you're like man Willis McGee, he and Clinton. Portis went ahead of him in it. I, I, I still forget that they had all three of those guys on that hurricane squad and Frank Gord was a starter. The hurricane squad was awesome, man and then he had the two ACM. Those guys went ahead of him and then nobody thought Frank Gore was gonna stand up and the man never got hurt. The man was a little Bowling ball and he was a little engine that could. He just kept trucking for.

Shaun:

God, he had a hell of a career oh. It was forever, it was like it was like damn near 20 years. Yeah, did, did. Did Gord Jr Go to Southern, southern miss? Yeah, he went to Southern miss, yeah, I think. I think I watched the the shrine game and he was playing in it and he was, he was rolling over people, yeah.

Jay Vegas:

Yeah, he's a little bowling ball to five, ten, two hundred pounds.

Shaun:

So he's a, he's a, he's not that big, he's just like daddy, you just like daddy you just built the bills low center of gravity.

Jay Vegas:

Just stick there you go, buddy I like it, I like it, but yeah, I mean it's. It's gonna be injured. Who do you, who do you think in fantasy, is gonna make the biggest impact?

Shaun:

In fans just rich, just coming out this class. I just coming on. I think he's gonna be my league neighbors.

Jay Vegas:

You think so?

Shaun:

I think he's gonna be my league neighbors it, you know, barring non quarterback. Mmm, of course you know Jalen Jaden Daniels is gonna be a monster. I think. I think they got him penciled into becoming a commander, which is, you know, just weird, but I think he's got a. I think that guy delivers a great ball. But yeah, I just like Malik neighbors. I think he's good route runner. He's fast, catches everything and stone out of him, I like. I think he's like a zay flowers.

Jay Vegas:

Yeah, I mean he's a he's. Of course he doesn't have the size, only six feet yeah that's my biggest concern with him and if, like Daniel Jeremiah, I'm looking at his my draft like we talked about that, he's got Marvin Harrison going to the Pats at three, emily neighbors going to the Cardinals at four to play with Kyla Murray.

Shaun:

That's still a good place. That's still a good pickup. That's sorry for the Cardinals. But I Don't think the Patriots draft the quarterback. I should draft the drivers.

Jay Vegas:

They need a quarterback, they need everything. They need everything because that's easy. They all left.

Shaun:

That's like if they could trade, if they could trade down and just pick up Baker Mayfield, since bucks are gonna let him walk.

Jay Vegas:

Are they gonna work out?

Shaun:

Yeah, they're letting him walk, they're not, they're not, they're not Tagging him.

Jay Vegas:

They just, he wants way too much money, huh.

Shaun:

Yeah, but I mean they could trade down. And there's your, the Baker's sitting there. He could he could work in that, in that New England weather.

Jay Vegas:

Yeah, he can, yeah, he definitely trying to roll in there and he's got that. There's just too much need in New England, I think just way too much need especially. I mean, just get your, get your beef, rebuild your offense and defensive line, start there and just work back. I because there's that's a whole retrofit that needs to happen there right, All right. I mean, there's nothing going on in New England. You're excited about right now.

Shaun:

The kicker. I heard they got a pretty good they got a pretty good butter and man got a lot of practice last year, man played in a lot of low-scoring games. They're deep snapper man, he can.

Jay Vegas:

He can fire that ball, so speaking of you know, speaking of which, like these, these quarterbacks, you know there's, there's quite a few of them. We, we all believe Kayla Williams gonna go number one, jaden Daniels or he's.

Shaun:

I think he's the best quarterback in the draft. Really, I Think he's gonna be end up being the best quarterback in the draft. He's. He's silky smooth, he's got a, throws a great ball. It's. It's just whether he's gets behind of a team that can protect them. You don't think of the Bears or the or Washington having a decent offensive line, so that's gonna hurt him. Yeah, but you know.

Jay Vegas:

Well, they got it. They got him falling Daniel Jeremiah and his, his mock draft. Again he's got him falling the six going to the John the jeeman.

Shaun:

Oh, and our buddy Nick would be salivating.

Jay Vegas:

Yeah, I think so I think so, because they've got he's got Drake may going number two to the commanders. That's just stupid. You should never trust a North Carolina quarterback. We already put in that right. Yeah, the ACC order backs coming from schools like North Carolina is a little tough.

Shaun:

North Carolina, northwestern, any of those schools that start with the North. Just leave them alone.

Jay Vegas:

No, don't go Alright. What about JJ McCarthy?

Shaun:

I think they've got him penciling going to the Denver, right? Well, that was it. Yeah, that was a lot of reports.

Jay Vegas:

It looks like he's moved up draft boards, I guess, and it looks like they got him going number eight to Atlanta.

Shaun:

Well, that's only if they can't can't work out that deal with fields, yeah, which I mean. I Don't think they should anyway, but yeah.

Jay Vegas:

I don't think so. Yeah, you might as well build your team away, you want?

Shaun:

If he goes to to Atlanta, I don't think that's gonna work out for him for him or Atlanta.

Jay Vegas:

I think he does. I think because it comes from an often he comes from an office who wants to run the ball first. If they bring that in and want to keep pounding the ball first, they bring that style in and just work off that play action. I I don't see that being a bad fit, with Kyle Pitts and Drake London being there as receivers.

Shaun:

Yeah, except they don't ever throw the ball to.

Jay Vegas:

It's a new regime and they just let go of John O'smith, they just released them, saving them cap space, yeah, yeah. So I think the new regime coming in. I think they're gonna go with a listen. We're gonna find ways to get playmakers the ball instead of just let them run down the field aimlessly.

Shaun:

So they got, they got. They got London, they got pits, they got B John they still have that Tyler as your kid. I mean they got some weapons.

Jay Vegas:

Yeah. Mccarthy wouldn't have to come in there and be the whole show, karthi wouldn't no, yeah, which I?

Shaun:

His arm strength? I don't think is is the greatest.

Jay Vegas:

He doesn't have to be, he doesn't have any real burners. You want to get these like cow pitch. You want to get him, him, him, the ball in space and Drake.

Shaun:

I mean, he's a big boy, yeah.

Jay Vegas:

Yeah, london slow. Yeah, he's not. Yeah, he's not a burner. So I mean it fits, I think, what McCarthy did in Michigan.

Shaun:

No, it's true. It's true, mccarthy's got. He got a little, got a little. Get up and go for him to yeah.

Jay Vegas:

Yeah, he's in the red option, he can move. Yeah, he's not. He's not a statue back there. He's no.

Shaun:

He's no, tom Brady so Semi-bonics goes to Denver.

Jay Vegas:

No, they don't. They don't have Denver taking. They have Denver taking a Edge rusher. They haven't gone. Jared, jared, verse from Florida State. It's interesting because after that that the quarterbacks really fall.

Shaun:

Oh yeah, they really fall off. I'm trying to find where bow, knicks and Michael kid from for estate right and they don't even have that.

Jay Vegas:

They don't they don't have pennies or bow Knicks going in the first round. That's the. They only have those Quarterbacks going. That's it. It's just the top four, just Caleb William.

Shaun:

Well, I didn't?

Jay Vegas:

Daniels Drake me and JJ McCarthy?

Shaun:

That the, the National title game, killed Michael Pinnick's. It just killed his chances of being, you know, drafted high Because they just they what. They whooped his ass and beat him down. I mean there's nothing, it, there was nothing left. And then, you know, bonex, coming from Auburn and been the Oregon, I Don't know never really impressed me that much, oh here you go, your boy.

Jay Vegas:

I know you were interested in this one, chop Robinson. Chop that edge rusher out of Penn State. They've got him going 28 to the bills.

Shaun:

No no.

Jay Vegas:

Why would you think he was gonna go?

Shaun:

I don't know, but someplace in a dome that would utilize his speed. He's, he's, he's, he's.

Jay Vegas:

Michael Parsons version two yeah yeah, that'll see there could be. I mean they've got it could be a switch up because he won before that. I think Arizona picks they're gonna go edge rusher, but they've got them going. Darius Robinson, the edge rusher out of Missouri.

Shaun:

He's a. He's a. He's a good player. He's a good player.

Jay Vegas:

Yeah, oh, here's an interesting one he might want. That might have some impact. You got Brian Thomas Jr, the LSU wide receiver, going 23 to the Texans. That could be interesting with CJ Stroud being there and that the the injuries they've had.

Shaun:

Why wouldn't they just? Why wouldn't they pick up Xavier worthy, unless he's already gone?

Jay Vegas:

Oh, xavier worthy, let's see where he goes. I didn't see him go anywhere, to be honest, would you? And I don't think I saw his name pick up.

Shaun:

Where did he?

Jay Vegas:

go Because they've got because I believe they've got Brian Thomas ranked a lot higher than Xavier worthy. Yeah, they didn't. They do not have Xavier where they're going.

Shaun:

No really round.

Jay Vegas:

Yeah, they've got him yeah it looks like a second day pick. They've got him going.

Shaun:

Xavier worthy is is tall and fast.

Jay Vegas:

It's weird, no he's not even that tall.

Shaun:

He sees what six to six, six one and he's 172.

Jay Vegas:

He's another.

Shaun:

Stick.

Jay Vegas:

Xavier worthy. You're talking about Xavier worthy at Texas, right.

Shaun:

Yeah.

Jay Vegas:

Yeah, six, one 172.

Shaun:

Hmm, oh, I can be wrong everyone so.

Jay Vegas:

I mean I'm just, yeah, I was curious on that Is I don't remember seeing a small receiver on Texas.

Shaun:

That's why I was like yeah, I thought he was bigger than that.

Jay Vegas:

Maybe he was that small he just got. He was so thin he was turned sideways and we couldn't see him.

Shaun:

He's like where'd he go? I don't know How'd that ball start floating? Oh no, there's your there, he is there, he is. You gotta get the right angle.

Jay Vegas:

But yeah, yeah, no, he's, uh, he looks. I think that's the problem with him. I think is the size matter, kind of the same thing that a lot people had with with Makanke and Troy flanker. But Troy flank and he's just got that that height six, three, but he, he's another twig.

Shaun:

Who, uh, who are your 40 losers gonna be drafted yeah?

Jay Vegas:

Oh.

Shaun:

Yeah, I think you know what I think we go a Insury offensive lineman.

Jay Vegas:

I think we need. We need some help on the interior O line.

Shaun:

Well, yes, that was a blaring loss there. The Super Bowl that was.

Jay Vegas:

That was where they messed up big time, because you know they, we had some good interior offense line, but with the salary cap and all the players we had to pay, that's. This is where you know that that window starts shrinking because now you're your anchor, the team which is your, of course your offense and defensive lines start to struggle. But they've got their offensive line, I think, kind of honed in. It's the O line. Now that's gonna struggle.

Shaun:

Well, just as long as you get an O lineman that can look up and actually see Chris Jones in front of them and want to put hands on him, lord, that would be great.

Jay Vegas:

Just somebody.

Shaun:

And somebody just put a helmet on him once you know we should.

Jay Vegas:

We should have just held every fucking play, like the Kansas City Chiefs did. You know the most the most penalized team for holding in the entire NFL and they don't get one flag in three Super Bowls.

Shaun:

Get out of here.

Jay Vegas:

They're the top rated holding team in the league every year and they never get hold for, and called for, a holding goal in the Super Bowl. Let's get out of here.

Shaun:

Get out of here done.

Jay Vegas:

I'm opening these wounds again.

Shaun:

I couldn't even watch sports for the first week. Let's talk about.

Jay Vegas:

Nick after Super Bowl and I was like. I told him I was like you know I'm a big nice fan. He's like, yeah, I said I couldn't even watch the Knights game on Monday. He's like why I was like, I was scared that we're gonna mention the Super Bowl. I didn't want to hear about it, Didn't want to hear about it.

Shaun:

Oh, is that.

Jay Vegas:

I was like that to her man. I was like, no, don't even want, nope, I want nothing to do with it. I think I end up watching like movies on the HBO was like nope, just gonna binge watch mobile movies, leave me alone.

Shaun:

Oh, harry Potter, I haven't seen. You know what. Let's watch some Quidditch.

Jay Vegas:

I love that movie.

Shaun:

At least. At least your arch rival didn't win the first Super Bowl in your home stadium. So yeah, makes me feel great.

Jay Vegas:

Yep, yep, yep, yep, yep, yep. I know that's the hard part is you know you raider fans that's a I know you guys were. Personally I know most all raider fans were rooting for the Niners because they just hate the Chiefs.

Shaun:

That's why it was so funny.

Jay Vegas:

Oh, there's a lot of Niner fans. I'm like no, they're just more. Raider fans that can't stand the Chiefs. That's the problem.

Shaun:

We were kind of hoping for like a power outage, so where they'd have to move venues to finish the game. Nice nice, if the Saints can come up, can, can, can kill their power. Surely we can kill ours.

Jay Vegas:

You know what? I had a funny feeling going in that week when the like the whole practice situation With where the Niners had to practice compared to where the Chiefs had to practice and the whole setup, I was like no, what's up with this? Yep like that whole thing was fishy for the beginning.

Shaun:

They were treating you like little brother the entire time entire time like oh it's raining it was wet.

Jay Vegas:

They're like, yeah, we're not gonna let you practice there. Okay, this is gold man.

Shaun:

All right, we're gonna see where this is gonna go.

Jay Vegas:

But, it was funny. You know they started releasing some of the the sound clips from that Super Bowl and it was funny one that they you know how they called Trent Williams for a hold. Early game you hear Shanahan, go, the rev go, listen. They're doing that exact same thing on their old line. He was I don't mind you calling on us, calling it on us, but please call it on them. You just got to go both ways and they never think a single fucking flag.

Shaun:

Yeah, they never there's just like no, no, no, no.

Jay Vegas:

Burger gonna, you gonna call that. When you got to call both ways and they never did, I was like wow, yeah, okay, moving on, just why you gotta take that old wound in there, man bastard. Still fresh, that that, that was fresh.

Shaun:

That was. It was scabbed over, but now oh, full blown, it's full blown. But it was. Was that you know when that when I use was wide open in the end zone and they just let Chris Jones walk through the offensive line. How big was that hole? I mean, it was it like I don't?

Jay Vegas:

know, he just, he just, literally like he just, and he gave him a little pat on the shoulder and that guy went flying off to the side. He said oh look, the red carbons all rolled out for me.

Shaun:

Some old-school red you like toss it and it was too light.

Jay Vegas:

There was two Niners wide open, wide open for a touchdown at play. There was two of them wide open and good right. Yeah, there was a lot of miscues and I should have been up by 20 something points in that first half. Oh, easy, easy. The fact that we were only up. Well, we were up. I was like I'm scared because that's not enough.

Shaun:

Because you guys were going in, going in and Christian McCaffrey fumbles McCaffrey Never fumbles.

Jay Vegas:

Yeah, never fumbles.

Shaun:

Never fumbles.

Jay Vegas:

And then what I was like oh, the half where I use wide open and party. I mean he just, stops running and I was like what the hell?

Shaun:

What the world was that.

Jay Vegas:

I'm like he was wide open. He had the guy beat by like three yards and with his speed he could have made it five by the time the ball lands. Yeah, but oh well, I digress next year.

Shaun:

I digress. There's always next year, shawn, you're a butthole.

Jay Vegas:

You know what you enjoy. You enjoy this. You enjoy your middle of the first round pick where you're stuck, and you know when you're like fuck, we're not gonna get anybody great, but we might get somebody okay, let's not blow this.

Shaun:

We're still taking it out, we're still taking it off as a lineman.

Jay Vegas:

We talked about dude, Daniel Jeremiah's got you taking a corner bro. Oh, no well that's the last thing you guys need right now.

Shaun:

We need defensive linemen and offensive linemen and receivers and a quarterback. Oh my God, we suck.

Jay Vegas:

Yeah, you guys need a lot. I mean, you got to make some trades with the bears, with the panthers, last year, because the hard thing about is you got 13, which isn't worth the whole lot, so you can't really trade down for them. And if you trade up, are you giving up too much to go get your guy? Yes yes you are. You're kind of stuck in that limbo where you're like man 13 is just not strong enough, where you're going to have to add in a lot more, but you guys need so much. I mean, you're another team that is like the offense Alamos is horrendous here in here. Yeah, they're all like terrible If they can get that going. I mean, at least he was being in some games, because then you could actually put up some points, because you got playmakers, you just we're going to.

Shaun:

We're going to lose Josh Jacobs. We're offensive line is horrible. Aiden O'Connell did okay. He's not a pro quarterback. He could be a backup at best.

Jay Vegas:

Yeah, I think he's a career backup.

Shaun:

He should be or he should be, he shouldn't be a starter. And then on the defensive side, the Tyree Wilson guy. He never really evolved. So you got, you know, you got. Crosby on the other side is awesome, but we're missing interior defensive line. Our linebackers are serviceable. Our linebackers are pretty serviceable, I mean actually actually like your linebackers and safeties.

Jay Vegas:

I don't think your corners are that bad. I just think you know, with no, with no pass rush. You know, listen, you're going to get open eventually. Yeah, because Crosby was all you had If Crosby was not getting to the quarterback. Nobody else was.

Shaun:

No, no, I was sure nobody else. We had your court, the Korean Bennett.

Jay Vegas:

Yeah, he came out late. He came on late. He came on late in the season. So hopefully that holds up and he builds off of that. But early in the season if, crosby, all you had to do was just double team Crosby and keep my, and you had all the time in the world through the ball.

Shaun:

Yeah, it was over, it was just done.

Jay Vegas:

And I don't care how good you are as a corner, not with these rules nowadays. You're going to get open eventually.

Shaun:

Or you're going to get a flag.

Jay Vegas:

One of the two, one of the two you're doing either way.

Shaun:

Unless you're the chiefs.

Jay Vegas:

Oh yeah, unless you're the chiefs and we're just the, we'll just throw those in our pocket. I like the bear hug one. Have you seen the bear hug on, where he gives him a big old bear hug and there's no flag?

Shaun:

No, I haven't.

Jay Vegas:

Oh, you got to watch that one, that one's he just has his arms open and then just wraps his arms around him and he's like he can't go anywhere and he did no flag. I was like, well, that's well, that's a good one.

Shaun:

That's great.

Jay Vegas:

He gave a good old care bear hug. But we did do Dynast Dynastee football. This year We'll get to our fantasy aspect of it, which you know. Speaking of the rookies coming out, you know we did our fan First year. Both of us did it for the first time. I mean, what is there anything you do different now that you kind of understand fantasy, dynasty fantasy, a little bit more than you did last year?

Shaun:

Well, as we were talking before, I probably wouldn't have traded Patrick in my home's way. Well, you know, even though I got, I think I got the better of the trade coming back at me. But if you look at my fantasy team my fantasy team is is awesome I've got like four of the top five running backs Decent receivers coming back. I don't really I could trade all of my draft picks this year and be happy with my team.

Jay Vegas:

Yeah, there you go.

Shaun:

Come back, but I have you.

Jay Vegas:

Definitely you hit on some day early in the season when A-chain was out and he wasn't playing. But when he came on, man, that really that was huge for you in that.

Shaun:

Yes, yes, a-chain was huge, and then I've got a. You know, I've got two second round picks coming through the thing. So as long as you guys don't screw me over and pick who I want, oh, all right.

Jay Vegas:

So the plan is you are.

Shaun:

you already know who I want. So if you just leave him be, if you just leave him be, I don't think he makes it to you.

Jay Vegas:

I don't think he makes it to you to say around I don't know.

Shaun:

Come on.

Jay Vegas:

There's no way. There's no way he gets there to you.

Shaun:

He's only got it. He's only got to go through 13 picks.

Jay Vegas:

I think he ain't making it. He ain't making it.

Shaun:

Cause.

Jay Vegas:

I'll tell you what cause I'm drafting number four cause my team sucked. Cause I had no running backs. Every one of my running backs sucked this year. You know what? I'm almost half that. I almost have to take a receiver and guess what it for? No, listen, it's gonna, I think. I think the first four picks are going to be all wide receivers.

Shaun:

Well, they should. I mean you know, hopefully, hopefully, I seriously hopefully. Uh, one of the quarterbacks is there in the second round. That I, that I like it and I can pick it, pick one of them up, just for a speculation. That's, that's what I hope, that's what I'm hoping Well, yeah, so we had that point.

Jay Vegas:

That's what you want, because if he turns out to be something like a CJ, if he pulls a CJ stroud, you're like trade me.

Shaun:

Trade me.

Jay Vegas:

Yeah, here we go. Who wants them? Who wants them?

Shaun:

That's right, yeah, but you know there's, there's, there's a couple of tight ends that are that are coming out, that besides Brock Bowers that I think are going to be pretty strong, and then there's a you know some I don't think the run and back class is very deep. No no, it's a very we don't. We don't do anything with individual defenders, so we can't be going off of any of that.

Jay Vegas:

Yeah yeah, we don't do anything with that defense wise. I was curious because I know a couple of people asked if we would make the dynasty league a super flex.

Shaun:

Don't we already have a super flit? Isn't it already super flex?

Jay Vegas:

No, no no, you're talking about our regular redraft league, is the?

Shaun:

two, that's a two QB.

Jay Vegas:

They were talking about trying to make it a super flex and open it up the position you know, because you know we are only a 10 team league and there's so there's so many good players kind of hanging out on the bench, I was like yeah that's not. That's not a bad idea.

Shaun:

Yeah, but are you really going to not fill that spot with a quarterback?

Jay Vegas:

Not if your quarterback sucks.

Shaun:

Trust me, I had plenty of that going on. Okay, Ideally would you be?

Jay Vegas:

good God. Have you seen my team? Oh, nobody paying out.

Shaun:

At least I got CJ Stroud.

Jay Vegas:

That's about it. That was my big win.

Shaun:

That was my big win, cj Stroud's on my team, cj look like a man. Cj is a baller.

Jay Vegas:

Yeah, exactly, I am the New York Giants. I am the New England Patriots. I am listening to trade offers. I want a haul. I got so many needs.

Shaun:

You should bang up RT. He needs a quarterback and he's got like four first rounder ethics. I think I got you exactly.

Jay Vegas:

But he's got. I think they're all like the middle. I'm like no, I want.

Shaun:

I want the studs, Studs man. I need to get that as spot five.

Jay Vegas:

Oh yeah, I just need to finish in the middle of the pack. I need to show some improvement. Ridiculous. I'm like I'm trying to try to trade because I think I've got Tula. I'm trying to trade Tula to see if I can pick up something and I'm like man, there is just nobody's. Everybody's too scared to move away from anybody. I'm like, all right.

Shaun:

It's because it's because it's dynasty. It's hard. Yeah, you're like I know this guy is good and I've got and I've got him, so do I give up? Give up this set, set position for just to pick up somebody. That may be good, but it's a tough one.

Jay Vegas:

It's a tough one.

Shaun:

That's why.

Jay Vegas:

I don't be scared Gristleballs.

Shaun:

I honestly think running back is the greatest position for dynasty. If you have more running backs and dynasty, you have to trade.

Jay Vegas:

I have the heart part about us that the running back situation, I mean the shelf life is so small and that's that's the hardest part and it's getting worse now, because now it's small and it's a committee.

Shaun:

Yeah.

Jay Vegas:

More and more.

Shaun:

If you see, if you're, if you're lucky enough to have that one or two running backs that get 80% of the ball share, you're never moving from there. They're like no, no, I'm good, thanks, I get it.

Jay Vegas:

Yeah, and that's just. It's hard to find now because one that just the running backs of diamond, like if you have a good offensive line, you got a good running back.

Shaun:

Yeah, that's. I mean, that's just plain simple. That's like don't you have Tajid Spears? No, or did you?

Jay Vegas:

drop. No, no, I think who draft? I think Giorsi drafted him, gorsi or or Nick drafted him.

Shaun:

I think it was Nick, I think.

Jay Vegas:

Nick, I think Nick Adam.

Shaun:

Tajid Spears has the greatest upside coming in next year. Oh yeah, he's got. There's nobody there. There's nobody there.

Jay Vegas:

No, the big day you know getting rid of the yeti, which it was about that, and you still lose it, he was losing.

Shaun:

Oh yeah, he's 30. He's 30. He's done. And you still had, and they still have that, that offensive line. That's still, you know, road graders.

Jay Vegas:

So, yeah, that's where the yeti goes to doing, when you know they love all those used toys. They're like the, they're like the land of misfit toys they went with. The Zeke was last year. We're bringing in the yeti this year, baby 30 year old Derek Henry.

Shaun:

Where would you go?

Jay Vegas:

And you know, is he still want to get paid like a top running. But that's going to be the hard part. Yeah, there's no way, there's no way anybody's going to pay him a big contract. You got to be shit me if you think somebody's going to pick that up. No, that's for a running back.

Shaun:

Minnesota.

Jay Vegas:

Oh yeah, because they just cut Alexander Madison.

Shaun:

They cut Alexander Madison and their other running back was horrible Ty Chandler, ty Chandler, and they didn't that Well, they picked up the one that the Rams cut.

Jay Vegas:

So Cam Acres really going to go with Cam Acres on this?

Shaun:

Well, I mean, he's better than Ty Chandler. You are digging boy. I told you they needed a running back. I told you they needed a running back but they throw the ball 50 times again. Well, I think they can't run the ball.

Jay Vegas:

They don't want to. They got the receivers all pre-medalas. You got to throw them the ball 50 times.

Shaun:

They need a quarterback now.

Jay Vegas:

I mean you got TJ Hawkins and you got Jordan Addison, you got Jefferson to make this not in the ball the old round. You don't need a running bag, you want to. Guys like to get in their pass block, yep.

Shaun:

Who's going to be their quarterback now?

Jay Vegas:

here, dobbs, I think they bring my cousins. I think you have to bring back cousins.

Shaun:

I don't know, I don't know if you can bring back cousins. He's gonna want so much money.

Jay Vegas:

I don't, you know, I it's gonna be interesting to see, because I don't really think there's a good landing spot for him. I don't think the market's gonna be that hot for him unless you're cousins. Yeah, for cousins.

Shaun:

I don't know if you have it. If you want to know cousins 32, 33, 34 he's up there now, I think he's.

Jay Vegas:

I think he's 35 at least.

Shaun:

Is he really?

Jay Vegas:

let me see, that'll let me look this up, let me see, let me see. I think he's up there, man, what's his? He's 35? He'll be, yeah, yeah, he'll be 36 when the season starts.

Shaun:

Well, he's got. He's got two good years left in him.

Jay Vegas:

Yeah. So I mean, like I said, I just don't think that he's. He's gonna have to get that Aaron Rogers money, but at least Aaron Rogers had a Super Bowl. Yeah, you know, I just don't see that happening for code. Where are you gonna go? That's, that's quarterback. That just needs a quarterback that's gonna produce a winner.

Shaun:

I'm the Browns.

Jay Vegas:

Don't ever say the Browns, stop it. That's an, that's an insult.

Shaun:

Well, you saw what they did with flacco. Man, there's still somebody that's actually a decent quarterback.

Jay Vegas:

There's still the Browns, it's still the Browns. I just that you know that's always my fantasy philosophy. Just don't grab anybody from Cleveland and you're. You can never be wrong Because you know, eventually the the wheels are gonna fall off. Just don't draft the Cleveland Brown. I'm looking at, I'm just I'm trying to see if there's one, a team that's a quarterback away and the only team I keep coming up to is Minnesota.

Shaun:

Yeah, minnesota needs a quarterback. That mean, because I think my need a better quarterback. But that's just me.

Jay Vegas:

I think, actually I think two of it's better in that system. I just think he does get the ball out quick. He's a. He's accurate he. Just he got to get the ball out faster, he's he's a one-read guy.

Shaun:

Yeah, read with Tampa Bay might need her.

Jay Vegas:

Yeah, if you're saying they're gonna let go of Mayfield, of Mayfield, tampa Bay, there you go. I.

Shaun:

Mean they're losing Mike Evans and I don't know they're there you said there, that's their.

Jay Vegas:

They are gonna do everything they can to bring Mike Evans back, and it looks like Mike Evans wants that too. Okay, yeah, they came out and said that today. That's why I think they're getting go of what's their linebacker. Good gosh, I'm trying to make.

Shaun:

Evans. No, mike, what's Shaq?

Jay Vegas:

Shaq, shaq Barrett. Yeah, shaq Barrett. Yeah, they said they're gonna let him go, so that way they can free up the cap space for for Evans.

Shaun:

Well, I know he's a first ballot Hall of Famer and he owns, like all of their records, but he's old.

Jay Vegas:

Yeah, I mean he's up there. He's up there, I mean it's. It's not a bad. Rather, I think I'd rather kept Shaq Barrett. Yeah, I mean it's, I think. What it is now is, I Think you're just trying to sell tickets, and if that team doesn't score, yeah well, that's true, that team doesn't score. I mean defensively, I mean overall, the defense was still solid. I think he's still have a solid defense. Yeah, you're gonna take a hit losing Barrett, but who knows? Who knows what his number is coming up with, what he wants to get you know. Yeah, coming up soon. So, yeah, we can see.

Shaun:

We have a good good, I wouldn't. I wouldn't be mad if the Raider signed Kirk Cousins, wouldn't be mad about it.

Jay Vegas:

Why so wouldn't?

Shaun:

be overly happy about it.

Jay Vegas:

We can watch him get sacked rather than you know, Conley.

Shaun:

Well, I mean, you know, at least when they score touchdown, we get to hear you like that, oh Lord.

Jay Vegas:

Jesus. No, no, no, absolutely not I.

Shaun:

Mean.

Jay Vegas:

Yeah, listen, I think, do it the Raiders. If they have a good, solid QB, are they way better? Yeah, I think they're. I don't think they're better than the, than the Chiefs as of right now, just because the Chiefs are all no act and no you can't counter punch with that team just yet. So I just don't see shelling out that much money. Why, why, why, when?

Shaun:

you. I just think the NFL is better when the Raiders are better, because we are the bad guys.

Jay Vegas:

No, it's just because then you'll watch more.

Shaun:

Exactly everybody will watch more.

Jay Vegas:

No, I think. I think you just watch more Instead of turning the game off in the second Corio yeah, that's over. Or falling asleep because it's a three zero game. You're like, oh, I've never seen a big turnaround in a week than that team three zero and then put up what would you guys put up the next week? 60?

Shaun:

likes yeah.

Jay Vegas:

Like what the hell is this?

Shaun:

But I do, I do like the coach.

Jay Vegas:

I do like the coach. I think you guys are actually stepping in the right direction for once, because you guys, I don't like the GM, I don't, I don't, yeah. I don't like the GM. I don't like the GM. He already Together. I mean, I'm the trend.

Shaun:

The Chargers just fired him and you guys just jump on him. Oh, that's great yeah.

Jay Vegas:

I Mean, yeah, did he put a good team? You know, now that'll be said, because if he does put, if With the hardball hiring and this team wins with that, oh, oh you know I mean then. Then he did put together a winner. They just didn't find the right coach for it.

Shaun:

Well, the coaches they were working with, he would go. He would go for it at the weirdest times.

Jay Vegas:

Yeah, he was just, he was very, very. I mean I get the whole strategy where he was going for it more than anything, but it was just bad play calling to on his part.

Shaun:

Man, I was just a lot of Bad play calling and and then, for some reason, the Detroit Lions decided you know what? That guy was right the entire time. Let's be up to be up three touchdowns and go forward of their 50.

Jay Vegas:

Yes, yes, exactly when I saw that, I was like we're done, we're done. But then I was like, oh my god, they're gonna give it to us because you're stupid, you're just stupid, you're, you're, you, are you stupid? You are literally turning back into the Detroit Lions. I'm like you're just right before I. You hear it is. This is every NFL film show I've watched, when Detroit was actually a decent team. Where you find a way to screw it up, here it goes, baby.

Shaun:

It just needed that. That that music, yes, yeah, yeah.

Jay Vegas:

And the narrator, as the Lions, you know, just reveal themselves once again. Let's go for it, boys. But yeah, I mean looking at, looking at Dynasty, I mean I really I Don't, I don't think there's gonna be too many big movers as far as shaking, as far as immediate impacts. But I think no, I think there's actually some really really good ones. That'll be a.

Shaun:

Yeah, there's, there's a, there's a solid three, four guys coming out in their first round.

Jay Vegas:

I think that within the next two fantasy seasons will be in the lineup like I can see two tight ends being very good Fantasy-wise, and then your future, if not right away, because you know the tight ends are becoming up. You know they're just they're a lot faster and and and they're catching abilities a lot better. You're just not getting a guy who can pass by because they can do both. But I think a lot of playmakers on that on the receiver side of the ball as well. So I Could see it being an interesting fantasy. Dynasty fantasy draft. I think I'm just gonna go draft that Johnny Wilson dude, just cuz he's six seven, just throw him the ball in a red zone.

Shaun:

Boys, I was gonna pick him up. I was like I'll just hold on to him you never know, you never know.

Jay Vegas:

Plank him out there, boys. Just throw it to him. You're going to him. You already know the move. Is you ready to play?

Shaun:

I'm taller than you. Gonna throw it up 15 feet in the air, exactly, just just about wide.

Jay Vegas:

So you're up against that 510, 510 quarter like yeah, I'll jump me buddy. My wingspan is taller than you.

Shaun:

You would have to run up my leg to get the balls. Is I'm benching the quarterback that throws low on him? Yeah, exactly exactly that guy needs yeah just you know where you put that ball.

Jay Vegas:

You already know where to put that ball every time.

Shaun:

Yeah.

Jay Vegas:

All right, man. Well, I think that's all the time today. We got for the day show. Guys Listen, it was great having you on the show again, Sean.

Shaun:

Oh, appreciate it, man yeah we got to do it.

Jay Vegas:

I've big, big announcement we are starting the YouTube channel this week, so I will be recording one at my face for radio. Yeah, yeah, thanks, buddy. I Am gonna be recording the first one with my father. That'll be out. I'm sure it'll be very minimalistic because I'm still learning how to do this, so but give it a watch. It'll probably be one of those 15 minute shows. We're gonna talk mostly just hockey and we're gonna talk the nights in the upcoming week. That is what we'll cover on our YouTube channel and yeah this will see where it goes from there. It'll be interesting. It'll be interesting to see how that goes. It'll be fun, if anything, it'll be fun, and then hopefully we get better at it. We'll start getting some of these Vegas guys on here. We'll start talking more football, especially during the season and things like that. I'm sure big Sean, I'd love to join us for that one. Yes, yeah baby, yeah, baby, peter Griffin. All right guys. Thank you, sean. Appreciate. Join the show, man, we're gonna have you on again soon. We got plenty of fantasy news, especially after the draft comes up, and lots to talk about.
