I mean, you got to call if it's a penalty, it's a penalty, you call it. that's the only part of it that's disappointing for me because I want to, it's not that my team didn't win. I want to be Connistent. I don't want just because it's the playoffs. Oh, we're not going to call that. We're not going to call this. it's unacceptable. I don't agree with that

Game six was his best game of the series. he showed flashes of where he was going to get. he was hoping to get back to and game seven, it just never manifested. I mean, he got manhandled defensively.

He played an excellent game. Like I've always said, you're never going to beat Bob low. You're going to have to elevate the puck. And the one goal where he got the breakaway on Yan Mark, I think that's where, if you notice they showed the stat, what they were over four or over three on breakaways to start the series. And if you go back and watch all those, they all tried to go low and tried to beat Bob five hole, because his stick placement and his discipline, where he keeps his stick, keeps that five hole kind of close. It makes it difficult. You have to elevate the puck on Bob. And when they finally got back to that, that's where they started having some success. And unfortunately, every shot you saw last night, it was on the ice and Bob's just going to block that with the pad. Every time

It's not even close, but I do agree with you. I do like to see when the winning team does get it because it just means a little bit more. The Conn Smythe now will not be celebrated now because it will not be celebrated whatsoever going forward because they, that kind of goes hand in hand with the Stanley cup. You see the Conn Smythe winner with the Stanley cup champions. Conor McDavid is just not going to do it. I mean, you're not going to see a whole lot of celebrating with that Conn Smythe because they lost.

He gets his stick held up, and yet there was so many bodies in front of the net. it was right when, when Messier and, and Sue Band said that after the first period, the next goal could be the winner. And it was a two to one game. it was a very, very hard fought game. I thought, thought Edmonton though. Listen, I didn't, I said it. I didn't expect to be,

And we remember, remember watching that. I remember exactly where we were when we watched that game. We were down at Steiner's pub, watching that game seven in the Yankee stadium. And that was the best feeling in the world. That was a great day. Great. After Damon hitting that, that grand salami, Oh, I was loving life. That was a great time, but yeah, that I was hoping to see a second. You know, three Oh, deficit come back to, to win a series. Unfortunately, Edmonton falls a little short, but David did make David things to get them there.

Like they talked about, can you put him in that category of the greats? And he hasn't won a Stanley cup yet. And you know, it's, it's gotta be eaten at him that he hasn't got there.

He stuck it out with Edmonton during some dark times and that team would that series so many number one overall picks on that team You would have thought they'd been they would be able to get there by now and it just hasn't happened for him

So I think that's his kind of Achilles heel. If you watch him during any kind of games where he doesn't score, you see the other team is able to play physical on him and Florida, of course, having a home ice, they get the last change so they can match up against that top line. Really neutralize them. And they did a hell of a job on, on dry side one, kept him, kept him quiet the whole series.

I thought it was kind of, eh, come on, man. Like you've played the last few games with the injury. you could have toughed it out. I mean, come on, but Hey, it is what it is. And Hey, they played and the person I'm happy most for is Bob. Cause Bob Ross, he's always, he's been a hell of a gold center for so long. I remember when he got the contract to go to Florida, everybody thought it was ridiculous how much they were paying him. And Hey, I think single handedly, he was the reason they won.

I mean, listen, the guys, he wins the best in the last, you know, previous season and man to get traded that quickly and lose, his place in that team, that roster, but it's a good move for Ottawa. I think they got a really good young team. I know they really struggled with finding gold tending last season. Hopefully it's a good step because that's a talented team. That's another one of those teams that has a lot of high draft picks. They made a lot of good moves.

And they made it a series and it was an epic game seven to watch. It was a close game. So it was great to watch.

jay-vegas_1_06-25-2024_131506:Well, you got to look at it too, from Florida standpoint, they were the guys sitting on the other end of the ice, watching the other team celebrate last season. that always throws a log on the fire. And he knows when they got there again, they didn't touch the conference cup. He knows they didn't touch it this year. So it should, hopefully it sparks something for Edmonton, but you know, listen, Our goal of the night is hopefully we'll get back there. I know our time is getting kind of thin. when we can press forward, our guys are getting a little bit older. Contracts are starting to come into play where we can't pay everybody. hopefully we can get there, but great game. Great game seven. It was epic to watch. Yeah, it was A lot of fun to watch. Hopefully we were hoping for Edmonton to see if McDavid could finally get a cup. And unfortunately it falls a little short this year. hopefully he can make a comeback.
